OpenSectorMedia was present at the first day of in-season F1 testing at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari. Last Tuesday, Ferrari tested in the historic Imola circuit with both their current SF-26 car and with last year’s SF-25.

Both of the Scuderia’s starting F1 drivers were in charge of driving the SF-26, with said laps being part of the testing for the new Pirelli 2027 tires. During the morning, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton took the reigns of the current car.

The afternoon was for Charles Leclerc, who finalized the Tuesday testings for Pirelli. A red flag was shown in order to clean up the track after the 2022 F1 vice-champion took a trip through the gravel at Acqua Minerali. Apart from this, no other known interruptions took place.

The Briton shared the track in the initial session with test driver Rafael Câmara. The Brazilian, who currently sits in second place of the FIA Formula 2 standings, drove the SF-25 car as part of the TPC (Testing of Previous Cars) programme.

Arthur Leclerc, brother of Charles and two-time F1 free practice driver, also drove in the 2025 Ferrari in the Imola tests as part of said programme. Both of the Monegasque racers shared time on track, as they were the only ones to participate in the afternoon session.
